 Can buds be smoked if they've had white mold?

Okay, so I started a thread on another site pertaining to white mold on pot plants. I was told by several people on there that the best thing to do with white mold is to spot treat it with hydrogen peroxide.
But.....
I was talking to this kid the other night and he said that if you have any white mold growing on a plant then you either have to scrap the whole plant or at least cut off the affected buds.
So I'm thinking why bother to spot treat with peroxide if you have to cut the buds off and toss 'em anyway? The 2 answers seem to conflict a bit and I'm feeling like I trust the website more than what this kid was saying.
I was told that the peroxide will not harm you so that makes it sound like it's okay to smoke the affected buds as long as the peroxide has completely cleared up and done away with the mold.
This kid kept saying, "oh, white mold, yeah that shit'll kill ya". I thought it was mostly just the black stuff that you had to watch out for but what do I know??
In any case, I'm still very confused. Someone please help!

oh, and i used H2O2 on it and dried it first too.

No, im not positive; but considering i rarely get sick, and i ended up with what i would diagnose as Bronchitis. I would say its a pretty good chance it was the bud. It was probably more like 24-36 hours.
All i know is that your lungs are a nice warm moist spot.
Maybe i got some mold spores in my lungs from harvesting it 
The point is, its not worth fucking with moldly anything

look up my lowryder grow, I'm pretty sure i asked the exact same type question, then smoked that shit anyway.
Sometimes you gonna learn the hard way though, I did.

But at least it gotcha high right?  Kidding!
So I guess there was some validity to what this kid was saying and it is best to just cut off the funky shit. Still, why toss the whole plant? That's just nuts IMO.

O, i cut off all the bad parts that i saw.
I did not think i was smoking any of the moldy bud,
I had cut the moldy bud off, and was only going to smoke the stuff around it.

I guess you could have smoked some spores. That's what will give you the lung infection. Here's a link about some cigs that were contaminated with mold: http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn10
Smoking mold spores of any kind should be avoided at all costs. I would not risk getting a bad lung infection for a nice buzz. It sucks, I know, but I wouldn't smoke it. I've tossed moldy buds before, but I've learned my lesson. Dry it out before you seal it up. Hope that helps. Peace!!

Yeah, although I've always been a little apprehensive when doing so... I've smoked lots of high-quality honey oil made from "moldy" buds...
Generally speaking there isn't much of a difference... however I imagine that is highly dependent on the type of mold afflicting your bud. I would not smoke the direct buds with mold on them... I have smoked weed that had mold around it, I was desperate. (Though I didn't smoke buds which were directly affected. Yet considering the way spores are, I'm 99.9% sure there were spores on the bud.)
It's relatively dangerous. Molds and fungi's in general are a class of organisms to which there is not enough information of relevance.
Furthermore, fungi are crazy organisms with crazy metabolisms and very unique and diverse chemical constitutions...
In short, you have no fucking clue what's being inhaled upon the vaporization of mold colonies and spores...
