I now deeply suspect that the darkened/black dead woodchip shrooms I saw two days ago not more than 1 mile or so from the house were (there is a definate colony marked North of here on BMS maps so wish me luck) local temps have been around 18c (and threatening to remain so) during the day, dropping from 10c to around 7-10c at night during next week and there's been plenty of rain. Sound promising?

Aaahh me lads ("burn the witch!" aaah later..later....).Twas a stormy day and the wind was whiffling through the trees, squalls of rain smattered against the oaks which hurled their acorns at the unwary. A half rainbow attempted to consummate it's ancient love with mother earth and a wolf made his way through unknown woodland....aaah. Many fungi were impudently pushing their fruits to the sky, but apart from a deadwood growing species no blue friends could be seen. Two amanita muscaria offered themselves and lupine curses were heard as this wolf realised that one day he would invest in a decent field guide ("shit I could probably eat those!"). ...and aah me lads he should have taken better heed of his maps and navigation as he now realises that his quarry "fans forth" heading due north (prevailing winds), therefore travels ranging further afield will be necessary I fear if I am to capture my quarry.

My god...that is such a huge patch. I really hope I can stumble upon something like that this year. Well atleast now I know it's time to start hunting.

Please be very careful about what you may or may not have found in those woods. Don't conclude a positive identification based solely on looking at these pictures.. spore print spore print spore print!
But, true psilocybe cyanescens will trip a person out with great ease. A patch of one hundred medium and larger sized shrooms could essentially trip over a hundred people no problem. But it depends how strong of an experience you are looking for.
I've personally had very profound experiences on .5 grams dried doses of cyans. The lowest i have measured out was a .35 g dried dose, during which audio and visual perception was significantly increased, and slight open-eyed visual distortions were present, though the trip was fairly short-lived.
By the way, what a beautiful find psillygirl!! You have lit up my day.

Wonderful pics... Went out to my patch yesterday in Oregon but weather has been dry and temps high so I think I've got a few more weeks to wait.
