tiny pf cakes for decoration
    #6070029 - 09/17/06 04:56 AM (5 years, 8 months ago)

has anybody here made little tiny pf cakes for decorative use? i'm making a few cakes in 7cm petri dishes, to fruit in a starbucks cup and put them around like you would put flowering houseplants. i'll put lightly peroxided pearlite at the bottom, and a couple vent holes covered with micropore tape. ideas/thoughts/pictures?

i'll be fruiting regular half-pints in 2-liter bottles and they'll also be great for decoration, but are a bit large to give away to friends for decoration.

it's a cute idea, it has been done but it's impracticle from a cultivation
standpoint, still it is a novel conversation piece

not tiny ones...but regular ones I have.

lol at decorating with illegal substances.

Wow, I love your meth lab themed kitchen!
Are those ecstasy pills in that candy dish?! How quaint!

Just jokes though guy.
Good luck on your creative venture.

LoL. You know what is almost sad? I looked at the plans of country crock and coolwhip containers, and said to myself "OH! WHAT GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFTS!"
My friends are getting married on the 30th... I believe that I shall reward such bravery with a "deco" gift
GREAT thread and BRILLIANT response!

westnile,
just because something might be illegal in your country, doesn't mean the rest of us have to suffer under those laws. where i live it's legal to grow and have fresh mushrooms, and (get this) i think they're beautiful.

i hardly think i'm the only one. try looking at them more closely the next time you eat some, and tell me it doesn't tickle your innards in a very special way. i'd be willing to bet that lots more people here make centerpieces or other decorations out of their beloved fungal friends.

i truthfully think this is genius!
For one thing, its GREAT for people who simply don't want to grow TONS of shrooms, one jar is nice.
For another, I truly think this is a fantastic gift for the person who loves shrooms but doesn't grow them or can't find them in the area.
Like I said, I am giving my friends one of these for their wedding gift! its great! They'll thank me over and over and over for it I know!
