LSD Legal question.

I was wondering why a drug like LSD is not legal in many countries. It doesn't seem like there is even any initiative to change the LSD laws in countries.
Any comments.

LSD empowers the individual. The powers that be don't want a society of empowered individuals because this removes the power from the few that control the many. They want a society of mindless clones, because mindless clones are easier to control and manipulate to serve their purposes.

But mushrooms seem to bring about the same thing in people. Why are mushrooms given more thought?

Why are mushrooms given more thought that what? Mushrooms are illegal for the same reason. Check out the theroies of Terrence Mckenna and David Icke for more in-depth analysis.

absolutely awake people are dangerous for the people who are trying to keep us asleep. there are people trying to change things. it is a very slow proses. it involves getting approval for research and then funding and a whole list of things. M.A.P.S is one of the main groups that are working all the time at it. they have already got approval for research with mdma, and a few with psilocybe you should check out the web site. they are a great group

That sounds all nice and everything, but I don't think that is the reality. The reality is that it is a heavily intoxicating experience, and there is a large amount of misinformation regarding its dangers. The general public considers acid as hard as cocaine and heroin.
I don't ever see acid being legal, it is just too outside the norm for the public to ever accept. Mushrooms maybe, weed eventually for sure, but acid... it will be a long while.

They have history and are perceived to be a good deal more natural. Even in the atmosphere of prohibition, a thousand years of use, culture, and spirituality commands respect.
LSD is evil prozac at best and 'designer drug' or 'insanity drops' at worst.

It's not easy for usual russian to understand that it's not to became uncontrolled, but for look at the things from another side...
All the country is not ready for this...yet

LSD is illegal not because it is a drug, but because it is considered a chemical weapon.
Could you imagine the psychological damage that could be done using LSD warfare? (or that has been done...)
