Why is Brothel du Sportastica a subforum?

Its subject matter appeals to many.

I think it would get more traffic if it wasn't hidden under dirty OTD.

I was under the impression it was designed to alleviate sports-based topics that were pressuring the normal flow of traffic within OTD. :shrug: I don't think sports talk was busting out in other forums, but I don't participate in many forums (until more recently), so I'm obviously not someone to have much of an opinion on this. :smirk:

But, then, sports in general don't appeal to me, either. Actually, football sort of does, and la crosse seems as though it would kick ass, but it isn't appealing enough to spend any amount of time with it. :lol:

yeah i dont mind where it is.. i agree we would get more traffic if it wasnt hidden away in the slums of OTDville.. but o well.

and flamming is allowed in that forum.. as far as i know.. i thought they only banned like personal attacks and racism and shit... im pretty sure trash-talk goes on 24-7

Well, perhaps it would receive more traffic if it had a different name. I'm sure people see OTD listed, and then, as a subforum, something starting with "Brothel", and then they cringe and quickly scroll past. :lol:

Perhaps those who might be interested in posting in the forum but who are not familiar with the history of the forum or frequent OTD are simply unaware of its existance.

I don't see the reason to make it its own forum, but perhaps a name change to something practical and effective, like "Sports", is in order. :shocked:

Also, the source request was also a valid point, in that ya'll can say "everyone loves sports", but that isn't exactly demonstrating that there is a desire and a need that everyone has to discuss sports, enough to justify it having its own forum.

Slap together a poll, or see if they will try posting a stickied link in all of the threads to the Sports subforum for a week or two, and they can observe the traffic and, if it is more readily apparent that the Sports forum exists, and traffic increases considerably, then that would justify it being its own forum, eh?

See, I'm simply not trying to argue pointless shit here, I'm trying to help you out, and to have a sense of humor while I'm at it. :tongue:

I dont think it makes sense that the sports forum is a subforum, but the hunting and shooting forum is its entity. I think sports are way more popular than guns. In fact, guns/shooting should be a subforum of sports, no?

Ok heres my feelings, and everyone who posts on the sports forum knows thats where i am most of the time...

right now statisically the sports forum is the 2nd to last.. true its a very very new forum... but i think once us sports fans prove ourselves.. then.. just then.. maybe we should have a forum on the main index

but for now... again.. im content on where we are

i do recall a time when there was no sports forum at all


However, the sports forum is the most popular subforum on this site.
