I don't recall anyone on the shroomery finding caerulipes in NY. I didn't do a search to confirm that though.
I'm sure there are areas in NY that fit the caerulipes habitat. All I can really say is keep looking, use all of the caerulipes threads as guidelines.

Yeah, I think there have been confirmed finds of them out there before - I can't say for sure though as I don't have access to the resources. As far as I know they weren't by actual shroomery members though. Just going on what I remember from an mj post.

In Albany, New York in 1923 by Peck, In Cleveland Ohio in 1923 by Walters, and in Tennessee by Miller in 1938. And in the east Coast of America by Singer and Smith in 1958. And again later by Smith in both Tenn and Mich. There are dozens of similar deposits of this species in Herbariums all along the East coast and in the aforemention states.
There is no mention of a Bethany strain or and the only subspecies is found in Mexico and that is Psilocybe syucaerulipes.
Also, many outdoor species when cultivated in doors will have different physiological attributes to its shapes, color and sizes.
A good example are the indoor grown wavy capped cubensis.
or the curled capped P. mexicana species, or the foot long Copelandia cyanescens mushrooms which hardly resemble their natural looking species.

I'm on the susquehanna so the river and creeks got plenty of water LOL, water made it up to my neighbors driveway, the houses across the street were fucked. Couple of relatives got fucked...but the mush should be happy. The flood came a day after I found and posted pics of subbs under water....I told relatives the river was only a foot below the bank(atleast 10 feet high) but no one paid attention, and no flood warnings on tv, just evacuations at 2 am.

The flooding didnt help my blue foot patch too much. We got bad flooding along the Delaware River and I had a very large amount of pins that were growing from the rain. I checked on the patch after the flood waters receded, and all the pins were gone as well as no large mushies were growing. I am going back today to see if anything is left from the patch , since I have not checked it in about a week. Hopefully there will be some.
