 Can dried mushrooms make you sick??

I got sick after taking some dried mushies, but I also was in contact with a girl who might've been sick too, and spent 10 days on anti-biotics to get well. What made me sick? Can a contaminated mushrooms still cause bacterical infections after it's been dried crispy??

No. A dried mushroom will not make you sick from food poisoning. The bacteria that causes food poisoning dies when the fruit dries. Nausea is normal when eating raw mushrooms. The human body can't digest them. You can prove this with an experiment: Swallow a small fresh or dry mushroom whole without chewing, then watch your stool. The mushroom will come out intact.
My theory is the non-digestable nature of raw mushrooms makes the body 'think' it has eaten something non-food so it wants to puke it out. Next time, boil the mushrooms into tea, then strain the chunks out and only drink the liquid. It will be much easier on your stomach.

Although this is not the case here, dried (or sterilized) food can contain bacterial toxins that were produced while the bacteria lived, and therefore give food poisoning, even though the bacteria are dead. Drying food does not guarantee that you won't get food poisoned from eating it.

But if the bacteria was dead it couldn't infect you and require the use of anti-biotics.

Usually, drugs will lower your bodies immune system. Last time I picked up the Flu after a night of fun. If your new to being with that girl, it isn't uncommon to pick something up from someone you haven't been w/ recently. Don't sweat it... Get well and continue to enjoy.

Very true. I read recently about hundreds of people who got sick from aflatoxins from tortillas made with contaminated corn. Not too long ago, there was a major dog food problem with aflatoxins as well. Fortunately, our mushrooms make no such toxins.

wow not a boil tho a sub boil no steam should be coming out of the water or if it does boil let it cool then put em in i made tea on my 3rd trip and it was great or you can seep em all day

Why not a boil? It makes sure any bacteria are killed off. Please don't say it ruins potency. I've boiled mushrooms into tea for half an hour with no loss. Five minutes is plenty, but I wanted to see if there was any potency loss, so did the half hour boil. None noticed.

really that odd once i let it go to a boil and their was very little effects from the tea i think as long as it doesnt bubble your in the clear same with making ayahusaca
