Webmail should be fine, but if you're using an external client (Outlook, Thunderbird) to send mail through the shroomery mail server, you won't be able to send to non-shroomery addresses, smtp auth is broken, so use webmail for now which will work.

Update on above, if you're using the shroomery mail server to send mail from some other client besides webmail, enable TLS on the outgoing mail server. SMTP Auth should work fine then.
