Here are the main things that annoy me.
Lets say I find an interesting journal. Unless I bookmark it there is no way to find it, assuming I forget the user name of the journal owner.
You can't search journals so if you do reply to one, you have to remember the persons username or bookmark the thing.
Now I can understand why searching journals is not a good idea, since theres a lot of stuff people probably don't want searched.
My idea to resolve this issue is this: In the My Home sections there could be a recently visited journals section. It wouls list the last 5 or 10 journals you visited (or posted in?)
Then like a month later when the original journal entry is gone from the Active Journal section I can say "Hey I remember so and so, I'm gonna go back and check that journal *click* "
Anyways thats my idea.

not to say that i think the jurnals are perfect (they do need some tweeking but i bet it's not gonna be done anytime soon...) you could always add the user to your contacts list and reach their jurnal from the "my home" tab every time you want to visit that persons jurnal?
or make a favourit jurnals list in your jurnal or toggle the favourit thread thingy and be notified every time someone posts on that thread ?
hope this helps (though i'm guessing you know all this) and i'll say again that i too think the jurnals should be more accesible somehow!

Yah I never thought of clicking the reminder thing, that could solve the problem, thanks. Though it would be nice if they were somehow more accessible.
