I know, I'm going to sound like a newbie, BUT my occupation does not let me have ANYTHING Psilly, and I need my damn hobby back I'm so BORED!! lol
Anyways, I'm looking for an edible mushroom that has THE SAME growing characteristics as a Psilly so I can keep my cultivation techniques going strong. Need an edible mushroom strain that grows almost if not, EXACTLY like a Cubensis preferably, or ANYTHING close, if anyone has a print or knows of were I may grab one, please LET ME KNOW! This will actually be my first dive into edibles, so ANY other information would help too, Thank You in advance! My Email is on my profile, thanx again!

for a first edible, i'd recommend oyster (pleurotus spp) but they aren't necessarily easy if you start from spores. if you wanna grow cakes, there are a few that can work with minimal modifications, like oysters, shiitake (lentinulus edodes), and monkeyhead (hericium erinaceus) ...... and if you can expand your skills to include wood substrates, your choice expands massively.
good luck

yea, i would say that the yellow, and pink oysters are similar, but the blue needs a lower fruiting temp (60-70), but they do grow well on cakes, and look similar in the jars. some strains of shiitake's are similar, but generally slower in my experiances. also, the king oyster is a fun, and delicious shroom that grows almost in identical conditions for me. good luck
