Nirvana

I used to really like them when I was younger, but I hadnt heard em in a while. I just listened to a few songs, and realized theyre not as good as I once thought. I listened to like 4 songs, and I got tired of it and put somethin else on, it just sounds so repetetive. The drums are still pretty good

Nirvana is better than I thought they were. you gotta remember the context occasionally---Nirvana is a narrow place in the River of Popular Music, a place through which most of the mainstream flowed, which is to say they had a lot of influence. they rock. Too bad Kurt killed himself, or Courtney killed him or whatever.

Theyre definitely a talented band, and there are a good 9 or 10 songs of theres that I really like, but it gets monotonous when I listen to it.

I mean Dumb is a great song, so obviously they had a lot of potential

I got a book of Kurt Cobain's photocopied journals for my birthday... anyone seen it? it's pretty neat, in a morbid curiosity sort of way

Alot of his Unplugged Live in NYC songs are great. The style of his music is slightly different, I think thats where "Dumb" came from. Most of his mellow stuff is on his unplugged cd, and damn do i wish I was there cus that was one hell of a performance. You will prolly like Lake of fire, Polly, Plateau, and Pennyroyal tea. I always liked his mellow stuff the most. The edgier side of Nirvana puts its best in the song D7. Long live the dead man.

yea I have the unplugged cd, pretty good stuff. I too prefer their mellow stuff

I used to be a big nirvana head when I was like 14 though, and now I can't appreciate them nearly as much. Im seeing all these flaws in the music that I never even thought about before.

But, I still like em

If you like Nirvana, check out Obsolete Heart

They borrow heavily from Nirvana and add a Western flair

I think they have enough originality to hold their own, thoughn
