My friend is going to grow for the first time and he cant find a good poly-fil tek, and he wonderd where a good oone is, his min question is if you only have 1 hole in the middle with poly fil in it how do you inoculate the sides of the jars.

Polyfill lid is used for shakeable grain substrates, NOT PF jars.
If you want to inoculate grain using a spore syringe, you can make a second small hole and put a tape over it and inoculate through this hole after pressure cooking. Don?t forget to replace the tape afterwards.

Do you think it is necessary to have poly fill filters on pf jars?
or is the verm. layer on the top enough?
