so I got do a 5 minute presentation in sociology. Might not seem like much.. but the most I ever talked in front of a class was 2min.
What are some tips in keeping a clear mind and getting my ideas across without getting all nervous and blanking out?
Its a thesis proposal. Any ideas,experiences, etc.. will do me good. thanks guys.

Just have fun with it, be a little witty (but not too much) and keep in mind that all the other students there are just as scared as you.
Look 'over' the audience, but not directly at anyone.

Yeah.. I'm not sure.. I feel fine going into public speech's..but once I'm about a minute in, I feel like its hard to present the information. I start to think to much about me talking (if that makes any sense.)
ill definitely practice alot before.

m00nshine is currently vacationing in Maui. Rumor has it he got rolled by drunken natives and is currently prostituting himself in order to pay for airfare back to the mainland but he's having trouble juggling a hairon addiction. He won't be back for a long while.

i find that the best way to have a good presentation is to know what your talking about... fully understand it... be comfortable with it, cause the teacher will almost always ask a question on the subject
this happened to me this quarter, in chemistry we had to do a poster presentation on a molecule, so my lab partner and i did dopamine, and we had all the info, but when it came to the poster, she was going to do all the work on the poster, printing the stuff out, and putting it together... but when it came time, half the info on the poster was wrong (i sent her the stuff i wanted on there, but she edited it)... so all the info on the poster was wrong, and i couldnt really contradict it. ... so i kinda froze up, and didnt know how to go over the info, cause it was just outright wrong, and presented speculations as facts...
but then we had to do a lab presentation and i threw that together in power point and i did much better cause i knew all the info, and was able to answer all the questions... we still got full credit on both though... cause our instructor is pretty cool.
