Yeah what kotik said. Britsh accented rap doesn't appeal to me. The beats are pretty cool though.

There is a lot of really good British hip hop inspired music, a lot of it just doesn't get heard. But in all fairness a lot of its not british as such but british-asian. they make music for themselves and the people around them and as a result it is not as commercial, but thats not why they make the music.
A lot of the commercial UK hip hop such as the streets just doesn't hold up to other forms of hip hop. But Britains more dance and rock orientated than hip hop, and there are 2 things we do very well!

hey man, not hating at all, just fed up with all the uber-cool-hipster-indie-rock kids here in the u.s. hopping on the 'alternative' bandwagon and citing UK 'hip-hop'(grime) as better than all american hip-hop ever. i don't mind dizzee rascal and the streets and even lady sov to a degree, i'm just not really into the whole approach, know what i mean?

Yeah no worries! The 'Grime' scene is just a part of Hip Hop here though, not all we have to offer. I know what you mean in a sense though because we havn't got much for you to get excited about.
