An Important message about one of our Brothers.

I really do not know where to begin. Well one of our fellow shroomerites is in trouble. He is strung out on crack and heroine. He has been fighting addiction for 3 years and is in really really deep this time. His name on here is Dark_Star. I'm not sure if he would like me posting this but I have to. I feel it is my responsibility to try to help him. He is drowning in his addiction. I do not want him to be another person that the cops find with a needle in his arm. I care deeply for this guy. Even though he is not blood related he is a brother of mine and it hurts me to think about him going thru this. He is a truly special person. His posts are helpful and are missed. He is an asset to this community and to the world. He has done many great things already in his life and he has also been there for me. I love him. When he beats this addiction he will do alot of good in this world. The evil in this world has just gotten him down, because it knows how much good he would do. He needs your love and good vibes and anything else good you can send his way. He is a wonderful person who has just slipped into addiction. Just thinking about what he is going thru right now makes me cry. So please send some love or whatever you have his way.

If you read this Brother I hope your not mad about me posting this and keep on truckin brother I know you can do it. If you need anything you have both of my numbers brother. We all love you.

That was a really beautiful post, Terrapin. :heart: D_S is obviously a very close, very important friend to you and he is very lucky to have you.

D_S, we have never chatted personally, but your buddy is worried about you. Sort your shit out mang...I wish I could say I understand where you're at right now..but I don't. I've never been there. I've seen friends fall down and have a really hard time getting back up. There is no shame in rehab. Let them help you. Let your friends help you.

I don't think there's anything wrong with making this thread. Sometimes people need a wake up call. Maybe an onslaught of Shroomerite love could be that wake up call.

I wish you the best on your journey... it's probably going to be a long one. :heart:

Sorry to hear of his troubles, but I have to say that you can talk to him until you're blue in the face and have no effect unless he's ready to kick his habit. Such is the sad nature of addiction. :shake:

He's a good guy. I remember enjoying some late night S&P convos with him. He's deep, insightful and has heart. This is lousy news to hear. :sad: Thanks for letting us know. I'll be holding good thoughts for him. :sun:

Kicking heroin was the hardest thing I've ever done. I feel like I wrestled with the devil himself to get though that shit. I don't know you D_S, but I can tell you that once you see that shit for what it is and get through it, you will be one of the strongest people alive.

Being addicted to heroin doesn't mean you're a weak person. In my opinion, it means quite the opposite. It seems like the most sensitive people, in possession of an amazing amount of depth and beauty, tend to be the most susceptible to addiction.

The kick will suck. bad. But it is so fucking worth it.

I will be sending you some lionheart energy your way. Just remember, as cheesy as it sounds, that darkness cannot win against love.

Sorry I rambled but I've got a soft spot for my fellow addicts :flowers:

my father was an athiest, he said the exact same thing about heroin, he kicked the
habit a couple of times, never for very long. One day he was talking with my
brother and told us of a couple ODs that almost killed him, once being

Damn...

I haven't been around lately. But one of the last things I read was that things were turning shitty from him. He'd lost (in some form) some of his acid, (He made that giant thread in ODD what it is) and seemed pretty upset about it, and other things seemed to be going down hill. I really hoped he wouldn't lose his grip.

You didn't ramble. He needs to know that there are people out there that have beaten it and that he can do it. I beat an addiction to heroine and it was like you described "wrestling with the devil himself". I'll never forget what he told me on his 2nd or 3rd to last lsd trip before he slipped in deep "I will be facing the devil soon, I don't know how or when, I just know that I will, and I hope I'll get a point for the good side." I cannot get this comment out of my head now. Thanks for the love for D_S guys.

these two difficult drugs generate satisfying results for the result oriented consumer.

it is extremely hard to argue with results.

amazingly the results are a sham, a thin veneer,
and not too healthy or loving either.

only caring counts. I hope he gets to the meta-results stage quickly, and can see that what counts is not results like these ultimate satisfyers.

as much as i hate this word... it is a feasible option, i guess... 'intervention?'....

in some ways, I wish that someone had organized one for me when I was struggling with my vices.... i'm sure he'd be angry as all hell at first... but, he seems to be a good, honest person inside... and he should see the benefit in the situation.

He says he wants to do it on his own but if I don't see him doing it I will make a road trip to the NE. He will be pissed but I want him to live longer than 23 yrs old.

Good luck brother. I just kicked smokin two months ago, haven't done a line for almost two weeks. Shit wrecked my life for a few years. I'm still a mess and an alcoholic, but I am so much better. Just a few days you can start to see the light again. We are all weak at times, but we also are stronger than we can imagine.
