as much as i hate this word... it is a feasible option, i guess... 'intervention?'....
in some ways, I wish that someone had organized one for me when I was struggling with my vices.... i'm sure he'd be angry as all hell at first... but, he seems to be a good, honest person inside... and he should see the benefit in the situation.

He says he wants to do it on his own but if I don't see him doing it I will make a road trip to the NE. He will be pissed but I want him to live longer than 23 yrs old.

Good luck brother. I just kicked smokin two months ago, haven't done a line for almost two weeks. Shit wrecked my life for a few years. I'm still a mess and an alcoholic, but I am so much better. Just a few days you can start to see the light again. We are all weak at times, but we also are stronger than we can imagine.

Here is what Uncle Bill has to say about Apomorphine from the Appendix of
NAKED LUNCH:
"Apomorphine. - Apomorphine is certainly the best method of withdrawal that I
have experienced. It does not completely illiminate the withdrawal symptoms,
but reduces them to endurable level. The acute symptoms such as stomach and
leg cramps, convulsive or manic states are completely controlled. In fact,
Apomorphine treatment involves less discomfort than a reduction cure.
Recovery is more rapid and more complete. I feel that I was never completely
cured of the craving for morphine until I took Apomorphine treatments.
Perhaps the "psychological" craving for morphine that persists after a cure is
not psychological at all, but metabolic. More potent variations of the
apomorphine formula might prove qualitatively more effective in treating all
forms of addictioin."

From one ex addict to another i KNOW what you're going through, if you dont know already you're never alone in this and nothing is to strong to defeat you. You can beat ANYTHING with support and help, its ok to stumble, its definitely ok to fall off hard, but its not ok to just give up. ahhhh please my man, i dont know you but pull out of it bro. im 18 years old and i have friends who are still in school and my age doing this shit. GOOD friends too it makes me sad they dont ever wanna smoke good ol' reefer w/me anymore. . .we used to toke all the time from dusk till dawn, always inventing new bongs (outta 4 foot tall fake plastic fishtanks, dunno if you know wut im talking about, but man do they make a good "big tymer"), smoking 1/2s and ounces every weekend with a couple others, and its sad that our childhood memories didnt take him high enough. . . either that or hes stuck in the low's. None the less Dark Star come back to the brightside, im sure your friends miss ya whether or not your still around them. . .

That is a tough situation, I understand how he feels... I have been there before too. In fact Dark Star has offered advice and support to me before when going through tough times.
Being in this sort of situation, many people will form negative opinions about you and not trust you.

D_S, the best option for you at this point would be checking yourself into an in patient rehab brother. (or at the very least considering it) Sheer will-power alone can only fight off so much. Sometimes it takes more to overcome the physical aspects of addiction.
Everybody is worried about you bro. We know you've been trying to beat this for over a year now. But you see, you must help yourself before anybody else can begin to help to help you.
You've been there for many people in this world through their dark times, including myself.

I'm 47 years old, and over the years have lost just about all the friends I once had to these drugs. I've also been there myself so I know that you do have a choice and you can come out of this and lead a beautiful life.
