Suicide is considered a mortal sin, and therefore would result in going to H-E-double hockeysticks, and not Heaven.

Everyone has their own perception of what the afterlife (those that believe in the afterlife anyway) actually is. I personally believe that your die when you are ready. If you take your own life before you are ready..."heaven" will not be as glorious as you had thought. I believe that life is a test, a lesson that must be learned....and when you pass the test...life ends. Someone people learn the lesson at a very young age, others it takes longer. Regardless, that is your path...no one person is better than the other, afterall, we are all part of the same consciousness, we are just experiencing ourselves subjectively. So to answer your question, yes I can wait to get to heaven...I still have much to learn here on planet Earth.

whta good is more knowledge? for what? in the end you will hve no need for what you have learned. in heaven there's no quiz to get in...
the crown is the prize, then you toss it away and worship "God" forever.
that's your eternity.in heaven.
if you beleive this then there is nothing more to be learned....right?
only those who aren't sure there's a heaven have a good reason to still be here....
i don't think ANYONE alive today really thinks there's such a place to go after life.

Buddhist psychology would point out the shock and disorientation that results from a surprising violent death. Suicide is self-murder, and murder requires such selfishness that "Heaven" is not the result of dying while so identified with the embodied ego. Killing oneself under those circumstances indicates complete identification with the mind-body, not with being Awareness itself. If one has the opportunity to die while identified with Awareness, say, during meditation when the mind is quiet and simple Awareness predominates, then that is going to result in an attentive transition to whatever happens next. Non-violence includes non-violence to oneself as well, and it is a lot more profound than just being 'nice' - it is constant training, since no one knows when one is gonna check out.

I do belive in a heaven. But, not in the biblical 'clouds in the sky and golden gates' sense.
But, I do belive that there is an energy that we return to, that is comprised of love, acceptance and euphoria.
Why dont I just off my self to get back there?
The purpose of life is to live and expierence as much as possible, to learn, expand, grow and be loved. The expierences we have in this life are re-intergrated into the collective energy/eternity upon death, and these are expierences that come back with people upon birth.
Offing yourself early is doing everyone an injustice.
Killing yourself is also one of the most selfish, self-centered things one can possibly do. It not only affects you, but those around you who love you and care about you. To kill yourself is to show a total lack of disregard and care for those people.

idont think it's selfish so much as i think the reason believers of such a place are in fact in doubt of said beliefs. and furthermore, the choice of living on earth suggests that there is a greater desire to be umong and take part in worldly things, than to reign in heaven. - 'knowing' of it's splendor..only some one not steadfast in thier convictions would chose Earth. is that not selfishness? or just uncertainty?

There are lessons in this life to be learnt. There are expierences to be had, these are things which we take with us over to 'the other side' whatever that may be.
Then again, my concept of after-life doesnt include clouds in the sky, pearly gates, and being reunited with your lost loved ones. Atleast not in the sense that say, Chrisitans seem to belive.
I'm sure the afterlife has much to offer. However, our life also has much to offer. I dont kill myself because I am not done with life yet. Yes, it can be hard, it can be challenging, it can downright suck at times - however, it also comes with it's own rewards and pleasures.
The purpose of life is to expiernce it and learn lessons. To end ones life short to try and cut to the head of line is to not fullfull your purpose in life. I dont want to leave this planet knowing I have unfinished business.
Life is a precious moment of which we have little of, eternity is there for well - eternity. I have the till end of the ages to explore and expierence the afterlife, I have but only a few years on this plane of existance.
