 Ever see a bird fall out of the sky?

The only time I've seen a bird fall out of the sky was during a trip. My friend tapped me on the shoulder and told me to "look at that". I turned around to see a bird about 60 feet above the ground. It was hovering in place and was making awkward flapping gestures. After a few seconds of this strange behavior the bird suddenly gave up and stopped flying. It dropped to the ground like a stone, making no effort at all to fly out of the situation. We waited a while and eventually it flew out of the grass, but this time it flew with the wind and not against it .
That was the only time I've ever seen a bird lose its will to fly, has anybody else seen this happen before? We couldn't stop laughing about it. What a weird thing to see, especially considering the circumstances.

One can see the weirdest things whilst tripping.  On time when tripping at a friends we saw about three birds (in the space of 30 seconds) slam into a sliding glass door.

It's funny how you can see the most ridiculous stuff when tripping, things that are even cool when you aren't.
I did see a bird get hit by a golf ball at a driving range and drop though, does that count?

Just today while smoking in the woods (60 degree weather in NY) we saw a big group of birds (probably geese) flying overhead and then watched as one just started going lower until we heard it smacking into branches and then finally fall to the ground. Almost like it was too tired and just collapsed, lol.

nope, but i have seen a turkey blow up when it decided to land on some power lines. by far the funniest thing iv ever seen in my life

I saw a big group a birds flying then a bigger one flew past them really fast and one of the birds dropped. I wen't over to check it out and the bird had no head....

Seen a pelican land on a branch and the branch broke. The bird smashed through a few other branches and landed in the water.

The bird flu can cause things like that. It could have been really messed up.
But a bird on acid would be pretty funny. hmmmmmmm...

my uncle and I were walking through a graveyard one day and a crow dropped dead at our feet, I assume it fell from the sky. My uncle said it was a bad omen.

yea man, in my old old house we had a big glass balcony door and birds were always ramming into it... once a bird got knocked out on its back. and after a minute, the moment it wakes up it flies off. it didnt take time to look around or stand up on its feet or anything... just flies off...

At the end of my friend and my first trip, we found a strange, small metal device in the middle of the floor. It wasn't there before, and to this day I have no idea what it is.
