 Im starting to fall for electronica...

last year at shambahla in the psytrance tent i fell in love watching someone play 4 tables after i consumed mdma, lsd, mushrooms, ghb, ketamine, and nitrous...
but i never really thought much of any other genre's... i like punk and hardcore..
but now a DJ moved in, and ive been hanging out with a girl whose parties all over the world so ive been listening to alot of electronic, and much to my dismay it is now my musical preference.. and im exploring making noise with a bunch of auido programs!
Pendulum has been blowing my mind, besides that i like -

amon tobin..
But i must stress, im really into Pendulum! its so pumping and carries on the hardcoreness while still being trippy. Good drum and bass is the shit, and the production is amazing, everything sounds so full...
the venetian snares too, especially the stuff with classical samples...
im into a bit of harsh noise type stuff like:

disciples of annihilation
Anyways, expand my mind about genre's, artists, LIVE PA ARTISTS, and anything cool about electronic...

For Drum-n-Bass, I recommend:

Pish Posh aka Wally
All of those artists are relatively commercial, and should be easily accessible.
My personal preference is electro music. You should check it out if you ever get a chance.

8bit Rockers
Too many to name. Check out www.cbs.nu for a good online radio that streams electro. I recommend you avoid it on the weekends- unless you want to hear Disco Terror.

yeah thanks e-chode, downloading what i can find on soulseek now...
i saw your postings in the Electro thread the other day and downloaded a really good electro set (i believe recommended by you.)
I dig... very kraftwork pre industrial-esque. Very dark..
i dont like the dieselboy i have, but ill try some other albums.

have you guys heard Lorin bassnectar?
I saw him play at shambahla this year and i didnt like it, but i think a crowd of a few thousand people gets me down...
he just played a town next to mine and a friend brought home a cd, its pretty good. Freak breaks?
how do you identify genres? there's so many.. but im just as anal with aggresstive music genres.
Anyways, whats up with Live PA artists...
i havent heard many besides Nic endo and her stuff is unreal, very original and progressive compositions.

 sorry... thievery corp is my absolute FAVORITE. I've bought everything i could find from them. I never get tired of listening to TC... it's just some of the most diverse music I've ever heard. Their album Abductions and Reconstructions is great great greatr. Love it.
I saw Dieselboy twice at a party called Flood back in early '00 in Norfolk, Va. Got to hang out with him and DJ Dara for a few hours the second time they were there. Both REALLY cool guys, Dara was a trip in himself, funny guy. Cool dreds too for a white dood.
Another you should check out is a guy called AK1200. He rocks some heavy bass. Trippy stuff.
The NEW (2004) Banco de Gaia CD is also very cool.
HYBRID! Can't say how much I like their Wider Angle album. Fucking awesome!
Massive Attack is a mainstay... 100th window is very cool!
The Orb... essential trip music. If you can find the Peel Sessions album, BUY IT...
Groove Armada did some cool stuff too... I really like their song "Piano Grand".
Bonobo does some very chill electro-lounge that I love too.
Praful is cool too... never thought a saxaphone would be good electro, but it is.
Sasha is essential party tunes...

I'll second e-chode's recomendation for electro, and add minimal to the list.

Electronic music is actually my main preference, despite the fact my favorite bands are Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and the Doors. Why? electronic music can explore so many various sounds and tastes. It can be thumpin` bass, melodic trance or soft ambient piano... but whatever it is, i usually like it, or i learn to.

Check out aphex twin, you'll love him or your money back. If you're really into the harder stuff try to find some stuff by deadly buddah, OOOOOOLDskool hardcore dj that laid down the sickness all the time.
