Mushroom Allergy

I am supposed to be allergic to mushrooms, but I can eat normal mushrooms just fine without any noticable reaction. I am real allergic to mold and shit though, I'm pretty sure shrooms are a certain type of mold.
My question is, if i am allergic to mushrooms, would I have a bad reaction to the psilocybin in shrooms?

WELCOME
let me try and answer your questions and give you some information on this.
mushrooms themselves are Fungus, not mold by definition.
I doubt that the actual allergy tests you got had anything to do with psilocybin, or psilocin the active ingredents of mushrooms so an allergy to that chemical is probably not that likely. I havent read anything about it anywhere on here or erowid.
if youre living in the U.s. odds are that you are going to get home grown mushrooms known as psilocybe cubensis. the bigest obstacle with growing them is contaminants, i.e. mold and bacteria.
while every moderator and member here will advise anyone with a moldy mushroom grow to start over. there are those that will harvest these and sell them, or give them away anyways. So usually mold will be a discoloration on the mushrooms and is very often noticable.
this is a page on mushroom alergy, it seems that there isnt that much research into it...
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=3278649&dopt=Abstract
in the end, if you are going to try and eat mushrooms of a new type anyways, try and do it safely. Start small with a little piece of a stem or cap, they contain the same amounts of psilocybin. wait and see if you have any allergic reaction and work your way up slowly making sure that your body can handle them.
also check out this website, it has alot of information about mushrooms, although i dont see anything alergy related. http://www.erowid.org/plants/mushrooms/mushrooms.shtml

Even if he is allergic to psilocybin mushrooms, I'm sure he wouldn't consume enough that would kill him. I haven't heard of anyone dying from being allergic to psilocybin mushrooms.
