 i'm allergic to penicillin will that be a problem with shrooms?

I'm allergic to penicillin and i heard from a story that it could be hazardous and could kill you if you take shrooms I've wanted to do them for a VERY long time but id rather not take this risk if its true.

I'm allergic to penicillin myself, and I have eaten a lot of shrooms. But, if I understand it correctly, there is a danger that, since you've shown an allergy to certain types of fungi, you may have allergies to other types as well. I do not believe (since I have not died just yet) that penicillin allergies necessarily mean you'll be allergic to shrooms, but that it does warrant caution from you.
If you've just got to try, I'd suggest tea. That way you get the goodies without eating the actual tissue. While I'm not sure, I think that would be less likely to set off a reaction.
I'd think long and hard about it before you do it. You don't want to be tripping balls when you're paranoid about dying. Start off with a nonactive dose and listen to your body's reaction. Shrooms are cool but not so cool I'd die for 'em!

I was just interested in this subject myself, so I did a search and ended up here. My friend is allergic to penicillin and wants to try shrooms, so that info is helpful. Thanks.

what i would do to be on the safe side is go get a allergy test from your doctor and that would show what you are and aren't allergic too that would imo be the best thing to do.

I wouldnt be surprised if its possible that a penicillin type green mold could grow on mushroom substrate. Id be really careful with green molds.

I am allergic to penicillin. Every time I eat mushrooms, I have an allergic reaction consisting of my throat and mouth itching temporarily. When I say temporarily, I mean I either overcome the allergy, or in the midst of my trip, I completely forget about it. Haha.
Either way, I'm still alive today.

Yes, penicillin is indeed derived from the bread mold Penicillium. This mold is blue or green in color when it starts to sporulate. It can easily be mistaken as Trichoderma, so you may want to avoid eating the fruits if you're allergic to penicillin. Or, make a hot tea with the fruits and you won't have to worry with allergic reactions by consumption...

I am somewhat allergic to penicillin and all shrooms ever do is give me a stomach ache
