Crash and burn...this does not look good (contamination woes)

Oh well man.
I had an excellent first run, no contams, great flushes...
But it would seem that I have fucked up this go-around.
A scant 3 days after innoculating 10 jars with my newly finished liquid culture (which is contam-free thank christ!) all hell has broken loose.
In all 10 jars directly underneath the 4 injection points on my lids, I have discovered a quickly spreading rust-red colored contaminant.
Well, I think its a contaminant. I took the lid off of one of the jars and had a big old whiff...and it smelled like fermentation...
FUCK!
I still have the jars in incubation, just to see if they'll make something cool-looking... I'll probably dump them sometime this weekend.
Oh well, I kinda wanted to try a few different methods anyways...
I was reading High Fun Guy's Colonization TEK a few days ago, sounds pretty neat on paper, I'd like to do a verification of his results.
Or, WBS is lookin' pretty sexy too. All that soaking and rinsing looks to be a pain in the ass, but I do like the quicker colonization times.
I'm still fairly green, but I'm convinced that I'll do better next time...

hate to break it to you, but your LC is contammed. Sounds like you have lipstick mold, if its showing in your innoc points that generally points to a dirty syringe or culture. Dump the jars, start a new lc, and up the sterility portion of your procedure

agreed with above, with the decription it sounds like lipstick mold.

...or it could be RUST.
Although, any jars that you've opened up so far, I'm sure they will contam.

I find WBS is easier then PF tek jars...All that grinding and mixing and loading. Getting the water JUST RIGHT. With WBS you just pour the seed into a bucket and fill with water (soak) Pour that threw a strainer and run it under the tap (rinse) Let that sit until it's drained (drain) Fill jars with seed (load) use lid combo of your choice. (Plastic lid with polyfil works for me.)
PC!
Shake!
Inoculate!
Shake!
Incubate!
SPAWN!

Just make sure when you go to empty out any contammed jars that you open them (with gloves, of course) under bleach water. Otherwise, you'll be spreading mold spores everywhere.

Points taken.
But my LC is regular colored, milky white growth, no strange colors.
Could my contam have originated from the injection points on the LC jar lid?
