Great looking shrooms, Illegal_Eagle! Whose spores did you use? Did the chicken manure have any bedding/straw in it? Or was it a commercial compost product?

A not very well thought out idea of "good bacteria vs. bad mold". I'm not sure what did what (maybe the nutrient kick was what was important) but I saw renewed mycelial growth shortly followed by pinning. Controls didn't make it to their third flush.
edit: And the cakes lost all blue-green until after the 4th flush. Then it came back.

There was no straw in the chiken manure that I had purchased, however I do not think that it would hurt. Make sure to get the poo moist not dripping wet when you bake it in the oven. Baking will greatly reduce the population of shroom nats.

Also you can recieve this strain from rich hawk at the hawkseye.....there is a direct link from the hightimes website (mushroom link goes straight there)......have fun with this strain, it is a very agressive mushroom and must I say CLEAN once more. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN.....and I'm talking about the trip.

I had great success with penis envy on cakes. I used course ground corn and vermiculite and I've had some awesome flushes. Penis envy is great stuff. Ill try and post some pics later.

the shrooms kinda look like they were infected with Verticillium. The stems were very ropy as opposed to the smooth stems you usally see with other stems. Is this uncommon or does this strain typically show this trait?

it seems to be a common trait with the PE strain. Most PE pics ive seen had the same, deformed looking, stems.

Does PE take longer to initially colonize and then speed up? I just recently inoculated a few rye jars with PE. Its been 10 days and no signs of growth

lol this post is three years old. 10 days and no germination? Well, PE (IMO) tended to be a bit slow, but not that slow.
