 poly fil holes to low...? :(

Hey guys i made my holes for the poly fil n my tub for the fc but i might have put them a little lower then i intended their gonna prolly come halfway up to the cakes...i mean i think it will work butn ot sure thats why iam worried what do you guys think?

ive never done what your talking about or even read up on it. but you know co2 is hevier than o2 so you might be strait.

i dont see why it wouldnt work as long as its above your perlite level or as long as its not interfering with your humidification. i dont have polyfill holes in my terrariums, i just fan.

yeah thats what i figuered so iam asking will it sstill exchange it good?and do i got to still fan out my fc even if i got poly holes?

keeper...how would it interfer with my humidification??i mean i thought people do this method everytime? i put 3 like quarter sized holes on each big side and 1 lil holes on each end...how wpould it affect humidity levels?pls help me

i mean iam using perlite for humidity will it affect it by fanning? and how do u do that bongtokesaid: thingy without typing..damn it sorry for double post i didnt realize grrr

well it depends. im not sure how well polyfill does for air exchange in terrariums, and i dont know how large your holes are either. but if your holes are big enough, and on opposite sides of eachother, and u have a fan blowing on one of the holes, it could possibly work for you...but id still fan.
mother nature provides a lot of fresh air, but anything used in excess could be harmful i guess.

yea i know its supposed to be fun but iam trying to hard not to fail..and i made it this far not to fail over some holes for co2 exchange  but do you think if i fan 3 times a day it will be fine??will fanning bring in contams or no?or do you think i should just throw this tub out and go get a new one?

no your good dude. once your cakes have colonized they are pretty contam resistant.

ohh ok so you dont think that i should go get a new tub cause of the holes in mine? what if it affects humidity?grr iam just so worried
