One of my jars is moving along nicely but i think i see some black mold growing along with the mycelium. Sorry i dont have a digital camera. Im just gonna ditch it but would it be ok if i kept the jar to re-use? Def. gonna sterilize it or would it be a bad idea?

don't open. toss the whole thing if you are sure it is black mold.

do you have a PC??
If you do SAVE them jars!!!
Just put them in the PC for 60-90mins.(longer the better)
After the jars cool, take them outside, twist off the ring and lid and toss them out with the cake you just killed. Keep only the Jars. Clean the jars with a bleach solution......your home as well for that matter!!
