you should read up on a condition called ergotism before you mess with the claviceps... symptoms include limbs turning black and falling off (no joke... look it up)

thanks for the heads up mike. i've read about it... i'll make it a point not to eat the stuff. i stumbled on an old gottlieb extraction manual :thumbup: at a bookstore while in new york and thought it would be interesting to see if anyone had cultures thats all. no rye fields( that i know of ) around here unfortunately.

get the shulgin manual, it shows a synthesis method using ergotamine tartrate... its used by midwives to force labor...

Is it ergotamine tartrate that's used for that? I thought it was another ergoline.

ET is sold as a prescription migraine medicine.

if you want to make lsd ,starting from claviceps or lsa containing seeds is defently the wrong route, uncle festers book about lsd production is a scam and no one ever start up with this using claviceps, its a myth, it just a theoretical thing,

Ergotamine Tartarate is easily available in migrene pills.With caffeine.
Also I read Hoffman article that states that you can start LSA also.One dedicated chemist can do it but it is hard.

after you get your hands on the pills, extract the caffeine. lactose, corn starch
and other fillers and binders you're left with 1 or 2 mgs of ET, given the expense

I know it's not what it should be. but its 3.50 for a 12 hour lsd trip. much better than most of us are used t.
