 Bad Grow Help

I just attempted a grow in 10 jars and ALL of them contaminated. They also grew very slowly and well they all sucked. What should I use to sterilize the room? Cant you make a spray with rubbing alcohol? And how do you steam the jars with the lids on. Is the steam supposed to get into the jars? If so, are you supposed to tape the top of the lid (the flat suction part) to the screwing part so that if you can put it on loose and break the suction it creates? These little details I have not read anywhere else.

sanitize your space with a bleach solution or wipe everything down with alcohol or spray with lysol (but not in or around any thing growing).

I dont get why you people are such dicks about your FAQ and all that. I did search around but I had a SPECIFIC question that i couldn't find an answer for. Thanks for nothing.

Punch or drill the 4 holes in the lid...and cover the holes with masking tape.
If you have the 2 banded lids...turn the lid with the sticky sealer side up...
this way your jar won't completely seal.
Then just snug the lid to the jar...don't over tighten....keep it a little loose.
Then cover the top of the lid and jar with some Alum foil.
The steam doesn't go into the jars per say.
Steaming your jars is just a process...boiling them in a pot of water.
