Got any good bargaining tips or tactics? Any experience haggling down WalMart? Help me, I want to rape this store... I WANT A LOWER PRICE GODDAMMIT!!!
I am looking to buy a counter-top dishwasher, since I'm a lazy fuck.
I shopped around a bit. The lowest price was $199.99 CDN at some local store.
WalMart's price: $229.97 CDN.
So I talk to the department supervisor, show her the ad. Sure enough, WalMart's price is more for the same product.
She's on the phone with the manager a few minutes. I wait patiently. Then she gets off and says they can go down $30 to $199.97.
I'm like, fuck that let me talk to the manager!
I get on the phone and tell him I want a lower price, otherwise I walk. He says he's coming down to see me.
Blah blah blah he's telling me that they will match any price in town, but for that item he "doesn't know how they could sell it for that price" and he's willing to match it, even though it means a loss.
I'm like whatever, I want a LOWER price. Why would I buy it here if I just had to wait around for 30 minutes? Get your head out of your ass. Make it a better price.
Now this guy is sweating and twitching, kind of. He goes into a WalMart trance, and all he can say is "We'll match any price."
Will you go lower?
We'll match any price.
Yeah, but will you go any lower?
We'll match any price.
Fuck you're an idiot, close your mouth before I piss in it.
We'll match any price.
And so on. Finally I'm like BYE, and I leave.
But I'm already getting ready for round TWO.

Don't mention the exact price, just act disinterested and look away, "Well I know I can get this cheaper at (some store)" and ask what the best the can do is.
I don't know how much bargaining you can do with stores like that, though

They are 147 in US dollars. I don't know what the fuck Canada uses for dollars, beaver skins or something?
Call the general manager of the store and bitch. Tell him that they are supposed to "BEAT" any other stores price, not just match it.

I thought about that but you need a flyer with the price on it for them to match or better it. So yeah, you need some sort of proof.
That manager really pissed me off. He complained that the other store was selling the item for less than it was worth... Doesn't feel too good, does it? I should have said that to him.
And yeah, technically they did beat it by 2 cents. Fuckers.

Wal-Mart used to sell American-made goods, they even had a special section for them. Wal-Mart is now driving its competitors out of business and has a monopoly in many small markets. You think they have good prices now? Not for long. When was the last time you thought you were getting a bargain from your local telephone, gas, electric, or cable monopoly?

I have to agree, so what if you pay higher prices at local businesses. At least the local places are trying to keep a roof over their heads, and food on their tables. Unlike walmart who fucks their employee's while lining thier (the higher ups) pockets, plus walmart doesnt even bank in the state that the store is operating in. Thus your community and state losses tax dollars from walmart. Furthermore the money they lose in taxes gets passed on to you. The point is your really not saving money when you consider the fact that your taxes will go up because of walmart...Oh and the revenue lost hurts you when its time for public spending (roads, drinking fountians street lamps ect..ect..)
