 Contaminated? Plz help

I just inoculated some jars two days ago, cracked corn, and over the metal lids I have coffee filters. My question is this. I have noticed a faint but distinct odor coming from the jars when i put my nose to the coffee filter and sniff. It almost smells like something rotting. I have never had this with BRF/V and am wondering now if I have gotten contaminated somehow. Please respond, there are no spots or any physical signs of contams, only the odor...please help

coffee filters are not good enough. you probably do have a contam

i have the metal lids and rings too though, over the top of the lids. i was very cautious during sterilization. i know I PCed and disinfected everything...
