Any threads with positive results lately?
#4590610 - 08/28/05 10:03 AM (6 years, 8 months ago) |

Rather then sifting though dozens of threads today I thought I would make lurking a little easier.
Have any of the threads made lately resulted in a change of belief for someone or a new insight?
Has anyone admitted they were wrong after a heated argument in some great thread this week?
Post links please.
Thanks.

All threads have a positive result from a certain point of view. So it all depends on this point of view and the criteria that you are applying to it

From your perspective:
Have any threads struck you as particularly progressive lately?
Have any of the threads you recently read/participated in resulted in a change of belief for someone or a new insight?
Has anyone admitted they were wrong after a heated argument in some great thread this week?
Post links please.

progressive, yes, each post is different from the previous, the discussion does go somewhere..
Change of belief, no, but a change of belief can be as dangerous as the belief itself. For example, what if a psycho convinces a sane man that the world is going to end tomorow, and both do a suicide. Changing beliefs of other people is a bit selfish, becuase you are putting your own beliefs on a higher place than those of the other guy But no, beliefs do not change on shroomery
the third issue depends on wheather anyone has been wrong on these forums, and what does it mean to be wrong

Thank you.
Very interesting.
Hopefully someone else will decide to be as helpful as you have been.

After years of exposure to fuzzy thinking, I made the transition.

there is a point when getting stuffed shifts into being overstuffed, overbearing and puffed up, and just too fluffy to take seriously. but after years of razor edged sarcasm, it is far far better to get stuffed than to be tumed and embombed.

Swami, are you mocking the oposite side, or what?

Punny, very punny.
-------------------- Absense of evidence is not evidence of absense...
"Religion is a defense against a religious experience"
Carl G. Jung
"So really, ordinary reality is a kind of chemical habit, sanctioned by culture, which says it's okay to use certain drugs, eat certain foods, and have certain sexual behaviors. However, when you transcend all this pre-conditioning by returning to the original wisdom of the animal body, then you discover this immense dimension of opportunity. For some people, it is a frightening risk. To me, that's the psychedelic experience."

He is mocking his feminine side. "Intuition, softness, feelings"
Props to the men here who have it integrated and use it to better balance out the masculine side. It makes you more of a man and human being, not less of a man.

your genes and sexual organs make you a man, nothing more needs to be done to prove it.
