I Found this growing at the base of a tree at a golf course in Southern South Carolina.
There really isnt spores, its like a spongy feeling.....and look.
Heres a size comparison to my hand.
And just when i was taking that last photo....BOOM, it exploded with faggot maggots.
Im not asking for an ID but if you think you know what it is, dont hesitate to say because my friend said he sees a lot of those and boy would i sound smart if i knew what it was.

its a bolete, and those maggots should really mellow out the taste haha jk, but really i dont think i have to tell ytou to not eat it. nice pics

yea i thought to myself this would prabably taste weird, then seeing maggots i didnt have the word taste in my mind. but thanks for the compliment and for the ID
