 Flaming Spore Syring Needle Question...

How do you do it?
Would this work:
Using 91% Rubbing Alcohol on an upside down shot glass, light it and hold the needle (whole needle right? since it will be going into the jar)
After it is red, I will use a cotton swab with 91% Rubbing alcohol on it to cool it down,
then squirt a little of the spore water out (to get out the dead spores and get the new ones ready for inocculating)?
Sound good?
How do you do yours?

I use the Sporeworks' syringe tek, minus the flame. Haven't used it in years; alcohol lamp collects dust because all you need for this hobby is a good swipe w/ rubbing alcohol. Inoculations, scraping spores, etc...flaming is unecessary.

To flame a needle.
Light lighter.
Put needle in flame until it turns red.
Remove from flame and wipe with alcohol.
If I flame a needle at all anymore, its ONE time, IF the syringe cane from someone else..the first time I use it. After that, alcohol wipe is enough.

You can get a wickless alc lamp off eBay CHEAP - sometimes.
They are GREAT for needle-work.
