1. Unlimited hugs, sticky-jam kisses, and "I LOVE YOU"'s
2. You can watch cartoons, read kids books, play Chutes & Ladders, eat Bottlecaps candy, and play with squirt guns without being accused of immaturity.
3. Realizing you are a role model is great motivation for getting your shit together.
4. Experiencing the world for the first time, again.

Yup, making them is fun, too. Or just practicing! 
I've always been a kid, and now I don't have to pretend to be an adult all the time.

We live in one of the best of all times. Wouldn't it be crueler to bring a child into a world where an infection would kill it, where it had good chances it wouldn't live to see 18, where it could be burned alive or tortured for nothing? Now is the freest, the cleanest, the most advanced time of all human history.

I don't know. I think we're all kidding ourselves thinking we can sustain our lifestyle indefinetly. There's going to be some serious chaos in the years to come and I'd rather not have a little one to look out for.

I have been thinking about children a lot lately.
Most children are 100% themselves. They live in their own little worlds, with their own agenda and imaginings. I guess adults call this 'purity to self' innocence.
The brightest time of my life was childhood. I'd like to allow another lifeform a chance at that brightness someday.

That's what it's about. By the time you're grown up, there's very liitle that inspires awe like so many things did in childhood.
I've got a 3 and a half month old son, and he is amazing. Just the fact that my wife and I made a person still boggles my mind.
