The KEY to using "credit" cards is NOT spending more then you are willing to pay off at the month and only having 1. The interest is rape....
I have a speedway visa card and every time i spend money there or anywhere i get some percentage back in free gas coupons that come every month. That is kind of nice because i get a better amount back in gas coupons then i would in straight cash back. Gas is something i use regularly tho so it works.

Just be careful with it. Try to keep your purchases to a minimum and keep it paid off, or they'll charge the shit out of you for late fees and the like. It's all too easy to go into a hole with one of those things. Believe me, I know first hand....

I think you have to start with a secured credit card, meaning, you have to apply, and write the bank the check, they put in a savings account for you, and you spend your own money, thats the way you build credit. Paying interest on your own money.

.. I already had do deal with that bullshit, with my ex-girlfriend...maxing out a sears card, chevron card, a local furnature card..other bills..etc..I owed about $8,000 total...so I had to file bankruptcy in early 2003...
I will never use credit cards on a woman unless she is my wife, or we are planning on being together...just like being married...
but at the same time...be careful with any cards...it is easy to go overboard in no time...
