i am very happy with my life. i have a wife, good animals, a nice home, food on the table, etc. but, i am not satisfied. there is so much i want to do and learn. hopefully, i wont feel satidifed with my life until i'm laying on my deathbed surrounded by my family and the life i have made for them and myself.

a bit hokey, but its exactly how i feel.

I agree. I never want to be fully satisfied, as there is so much to see, do, and accomplish in life. To never feel the drive of wanting to examine or experiencing something new & challenging seems to be rather stale to me. Perhaps once I'm older and no longer able to really embrace those things, I'd want to be satisfied. For now, I enjoy watching what can happen.

At the moment, I wish I had more stability in my life, but this is coming from someone who has watched a family member he is living with make everyday into a surreal experience. I've enjoyed the challenge of it because I know that it is developing me into a stonger person - I am however, dying to be able to do things the way I really want to do them, I.E. record the album (just waiting to get one last piece of music equpiment).

The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.

big deal, I have never been married, been in two long term relationships, the second one with three kids..one most if the time, the other two stayed with thier grandma...
I am in no hurry to get married, I almost did with my first girlfriend...almost 2 years...yay, whatever, I am "Happy" for selected birth control and pills or I would have been having to pay for 2 kids for child support...

i like denis leary's theory from one of his stand ups. dont remember the exact quote but its along these lines...
i'm not 'happy' all the time with my life. happiness is found in that morning cigarette, an orgasm, in a beer, in a joint, in a cup of coffee, in a casino, in whatever helps me forget about my life for a while
