 Harvesting mushrooms outside?

Okay so this is what i plan on doing. Getting some psilocybe cyanescens spores. Then going to a spot outside where there is some rotten logs. It is a very private area. Then spreading the spores and hoping they grow. I was wondering if this ever works. I picked p. cyan because they seem like they would grow up here, upstate NY (the nights can get coldish around 50) and they can grow on debris and dead wood. Anyway should i introduce them somewhere where there is plenty of water, like close to a river basin, swampy area, or somewhere regular? I was wondering if anyone had any luck doing this ever? Hope someone can help!

Nope doesn't work, look into a cyan wood chip tek.

Yeah, they require particular types of wood. Like Alder chips.
