i've got some jars of wbs going but they are going super slow, they are even incubated at 86F. i was wondering if i should expose the pinhole inoculation point to give them at least some air exchange. lots of the jar's surface area...only 50% in the jars w/ the most myc are covered. i'm thinking it will open up my jars to contams because they aren't covered in myc.
its not like i have a dry verm layer to stop incoming contaminants.

I think you mean gas exchange, most people prefer to use tyvek or polyfil through an opening in the lid.
