this shall not be the case and is the reason for you having poor humidity.

there must be about a inch of hydroton / lava rock above the water
beacuse this is where it evaporates.

you do not supply the needed surface for evaporation and therefor
do not ged adequate humidity results.

make sure about one inch of the lavarock / geolite / hydroton whatever
is above the water level and your humidity issues are done.
actually in the original pmp thread, iirc, this is pointed out
PRECISELY since this is a mistake many newbies make.

i just saw your pic, WAY too much water in there.
infact, keep the waterlevel as it is and add about an inch of
new lavarock on it.
