Took some pics of my young Shiitake fruits. The pics came out pretty good so I decided to post a couple. Check them out, looks yummy! Can't wait to harvest.

Substrate mainly consists of hardwood sawdust. I did not put it together myself. A friend gave them to me already colonized. This will be the first time that I have had enough fresh shiitake specimens to experiment with. So from this I plan to create some tissue cultures. I have a bunch of sterile agar slants already prepared. Next time I grow them, I will be able to go through the whole process start to finish. I defiantly want to get into it. Anyways I'll take some more pics when they are mature.

They are bigger than they look in the pic, I think two would be enough to fill me up.
