Also with the money thing most of this so called "money that we don't have" is being fed back into our own country, so essentially we are helping ourselves.

So you use poverty as the level of destruction that taxation can wreak among the wealthy as a guideline for when to stop it? The very premise of taxation for "social" programs is faulty. Inherent in the concept is the belief that the majority of taxpayers don't want their money to go for X, Y or Z, so it must be taken from them. If the government is using force to make people do things that the majority of them don't want to do then the government is wrong.
