Coprinus comatus fruiting indoor's

Someone I know has allowed me to post these pics of the Coprinus comatus (Shaggy mane) he grew indoors with the peroxide method:

The substrate was a mixture of wood fuel pellets (fir), Straw supplemented with fertilizer (Guano) and soy flower.
He also had some problems to get them fruit indoors until he applied a special casing. It seems to be important that the casing is not dense and let's a lot of air through. Therefore he used this formula: 1/3 sand, 1/3 bark mulch and 1/3 peat. A PH of 7 was adjusted with quicklime bought at home depot. It is important that the quick lime does not contain magnesium since this blocks fruktifikation. After the casing was colonized it was sort of deep scratched. At a temperature between 16-18 degrees Celsius the culture yielded till to the beginning of June in his basement.

No, not yet. Post is kind of slow this time of year.
I'll try and get my side of the deal sent out tomorrow, sorry for the delay.

Was it fruited in the open air?

I think it was fruited in the opened bag as you see can it on the picture above. But the bag was probably opened after the mycelium had fully colonized the substrate.

I know the peroxide method involves soaking the substrate in a solution of 3% H2O2 diluted 10/1. But, I wonder if you can elaborate on the method your friend used to produce this great flush of Shaggys.

I know that he also treated the substrate with peroxide, and I assume that it was treated similar as the spawn he makes (see this thread).
But I will ask him about the details and let you know when he has answered.
Or do you want to know something special that I did not mention ?

No, never.
But hopefully I will find some time to try it out in the near future ...
