Sure it's not pretty, but it worked. Here's the pmp. (Poor man's pod) The window is plastic wrap. It's there so I could see inside.

Here it is, opened for the first time since the cake went in. Note the duct tape folded over the cut edges. That's to beef up the flimsy plastic a little. The light was really diffused by the white plastic, so these little darlings grew up very confused. The cake fell over because of the irregular bottom, and I left it like that.

Here they are being introduced to the world. Hello children!

Another view of the twisted sisters.

Harvested shroomies. They weighed in at 69.7 grams, with a little grit still on them.

Cleaned up with soft tooth brush. Stems split to speed dehydration. Now the wire basket goes on top of my monitor for a few hours. There's a steady updraft from convection, and the temperature is about 95F

Details; B+ strain. PF tek for simple minds. Dunked, cold shocked, rolled, and double end cased until it fell over. 12 hours of light per day from a nearby fluorescent. Normal room temperature of about 67F. After it pinned, I opened the cap about once per day and blew across the hole. Another strip of tape held the jug closed. It came off much easier than I expected, so I can use the jug for the second flush.
I know it's primitive. That doesn't spoil my sheer joy one bit. Thanks Shroomery.

Now that is an official poor man's pod! Haha good work though, always neat to see an alternative fruiting chamber idea.
