schazwat, i dont know if you're coming back to read this but,
some people use shrooms and find peace and understanding, some people use shrooms and find better sex, it's like the sunset, to some people it's the most amazing thing in the world they have ever seen, to others, it's just the same thing everyday-nothing amazing.

I could go so far as to say it does'nt matter if you wanna know if entheogens are good for anything, but wether the entheogens want to reaveal anything to you.

"I traveled a long way seeking God, but when I finally gave up and turned back, there He was, within me! O Lalli! Now why do you wander like a beggar? Make some effort, and He will grant you a vision of Himself in the form of bliss in your heart." -the saint of the Kashmir Shaivism tradition: Lalli.

pleasure is derived from something outside yourself

Correct.

there is no self to begin with so in reality

Slightly incorrect. What you may have misinterpreted, is the premise of the illusory, fleeting egoic-self. Beyond that, there is the true 'self'.

any pleasure/love gained from outside 'yourself' is the same as the pleasure/love gained from within 'yourself'

Pleasure derived from smoking crack-cocaine is the same as inner-peace, a state of Being? Do both of them have a dualistic opposite attached to it, or only one of them?

All positivity stems from this dualistic time bound state too.

So are you also implying that beyond the thinking mind, there is no inner-peace, joy and love?

The ego state is not as bad as you make it out.

I?m curious: Are you defending your right to suffer? Don?t worry, nobody is going to take that away from you.

Be careful not to get attached to oneness

Oneness is no-attachment, hence totality.

(I love language games).

If your motivation to discuss [or argue] is dominantly based on games and not on a will to truly understand an enlightened, transcendental reality, then please forgive me if I cease to put the time and effort into illuminating that which I have to offer to you, and have done so... Becuase words are merely pointers to that which cannot be encapsulated by mere thought or mind alone.

for feelings (in abhidhamma) there are only 3
pain , pleasure, & indifference

it is said (in abhidhamma) that all citta or mind moments will be accompanied by one of the 3. no distinction is made as to source except that it is associated with the mind moment itself.

we usually use the words "feel" and "feelings" instead of the words "sense" and "sensation" and a lot of inaccuracy flows from that.
(hope I haven't hurt anyones' feelings with that tidbit. ha!)
