Japanese or Latin.
But what end purpose are you taking the language? If it's just to finish a class take Spanish as it's probably the easiest.
If you plan on a medical field or possibly a legal field choose Latin.
For upper level business ( not seeling lawnmowers and cow movers ) choose Japanese.
Just for fun Latin is the coolest language to learn and Japanese is probably the hardest language to learn.

German is a fun language, Japanese would be interesting, Latin would be my choice.

If you do any traveling in the south I've found that Spanish is a wonderful thing to know. Japanese is fun, because it sounds cool and no one will ever understand what you're saying
I took latin, and not only did I learn a TON more about English, but it's very useful in deciphering large words you don't know, or with any science (I dig botany, mycology and biology, very useful!). Latin is similar to Spanish, so don't take both or you'll get confused! Another bonus is that you can talk to people in Latin, but they can never ask you to 'speak some latin' for them like the other languages, because it's a dead language! Another bonus is you can read old manuscripts in the original language, which is really cool
People who know latin also look smart and appear to be over-educated, Si Hoc Legere Scis, Nimium Eruditionis Habes!

Don't take Japanese. It kicked my ass in school and took up way too much time from other classes. Now all I remember is how to say is "I have the number one big penis"...

i learned french in high-school - it helped land me a french girlfriend when i moved overseas (but not really... she always made fun of my french ). then i learned norwegian (and by a bit of practice, swedish and danish) - which has opened up the door to free education, free health-care, and gov't student support
so i'd say learn one of the scandanavian languages if you are looking to leach off northern european tax-payers... otherwise, i'd go for french.
or actually, russian - learning a new alphabet is difficult, i'm sure, but think - to read the Brothers Karamazov in the original russian... jeeze

i've heard that in japanese, there is no possessive form for an idea - ie you can't say "i have an idea" - you can only say "there exists an idea such as..."
also in most indian languages, the word for yesterday and the word for tomorrow is the same word.
it'd be very interesting to see how lingustic differences like this effect one's world-view...

yeah, that's true about japanese, and chinese, and thai, the speaker just assumes you know that the idea is yours, not too complicated to understand.
That's interesting about yesterday and tommarrow being the same word, is this the country India or native americans? thai, japanese, and chinese, all have different words for time occassions, never can mean the same, maybe you mean the spelling for yesterday and tommarrow are the same, but the accent and prononciation make the listener understand the difference, in Thai wan ni and wan ni are the same for yesterday and today, but yesterday's wan is spoken with a long accent that you always recognize. Most asian languages have words for "the day before yesterday", and the "the day after tommarrow" also, interesting ehh,
