Use some creativity. "Happy" and "content" aren''t necessarily the same thing.

Confusion.

It happens all the time right?

Non-emotion, if that makes sense.
When you're happy, it sucks when you become sad.
When you're sad, everything sucks, but you get happy again, but then you will eventually be sad.
I'd rather feel nothing than the volley of stupid human emotions.

You prefer no emotion? Id rather be sad than feel nothing. How can you create or enjoy things like music or art without any emotion?

my friend makes it a practice of making sure to remember everything, all the hard and good memories, because the vividness of those memories reminds him that hes alive.

Quite easily, actually. In writing, I can get into my characters more and develop them fully without any pre-existing baggage (good or bad) on my mind.

I think you are just trying to express yourself in a new light.
Of course you are using emotions when you write words or music. WTF??
I have been writing for nearly 25 years. I know alot of creative people. They would all be shocked at such a statement
It is so shocking it could be mistaken for an emotional creative outburst.
Which in itself would contradiction of your very statement.
So you lie then

Anything.. horror, fiction, sci-fi (not star trek nerdy, but some good stuff), a little fantasy here and there. Wherever the words take me, I go.
