 WHY cant I "save picture as" JPG. or GIF.'s anymore?

Just starting today for some reason when I right click on a picture from google images and select "save picure as"----I can only save it as a bitmap file type!!! Thus not able to upload to shroomery images....A few days ago I still had Jpeg and Gif options to save it as which are better quality anyways....
What is the reasoning behind this?

Try a different browser(firefox)?

Actually, since ive moved to firefox, i have the same problem, it just saves them as paint shop pro images
