Oudemansiella radicata

When I originally found this mushroom, and took the picture, I believe I had identified it as Oudemansiella radicata, though I'm not looking for an ID on it now, I'm just sharing the photograph.

Of course, the quick verification would be if you dug up the mushroom so we could see the base of the stem. Nice photo.

Yes, it was rooted, I don't have a photograph of the root, just that one. Thank you for the compliment.
Weren't these originally Collybia radicata?

Yes, and now they're Xerula radicata.
Tom Volk says you can tell when a person learned mushroom identification from what they call mushrooms like these that have had numerous name changes. You also need to include when the books they have were written.

So many species of mushrooms seem to have many name changes, I thought I remembered them being called Collybia in a much older field guide I used to have. Seems I need a new one yet again.
