This is a flush AFTER dunking directly after birthing. What a difference an H2O dunk makes - the other cake didn't do a fraction as well!

So you birthed the cake when it was fully colonized, and put it directly into water using the dunk-tek method?

The other didn't do near as well?

I put the cake in a jar full of filtered water (Brita filter) and put it in the fridge for 15 hours, then took it out, dabbed it dry, and it started to pin 2 days later.

So do you just dunk the whole cake for twenty-four hours and then crumble it up etc.? Does milk work better?

no, skimmilk has higher contam risks, but works great. stick to water unless you want to experiment.

Thanks for all of your comments and support! I must say again, the dunk Tek is awesome!!! I haven't used milk yet, but as long as the filtered water works this well, I'll stick to H2O!
