Yeah, I should have added George. He's penned some pretty nice songs. In fact, he's arguably the most enlightened one. Ringo I don't really consider a songwriter.

Lennon all the way brother! George woulda' been my vote if he were on the poll. He is one of my inspirations for learning to play the sitar. Just an absolutely beautiful and spiritually inspiring instrument. Harrison had great musical taste imho!

Lets not knock Ringo Starr He did write several songs for the Beatles and went on to record several more albums on his own after the break up. Don't ask me to quote on his contributions to the Beatles I can't without doing a search. But I know it to be true. Besides he is still touring the world with his band!!!

I like them both, but I have a soft spot for Paul.
I like his voice better, and his songs tend to be more narrative in structure (which I like).

ofcourse i would have voted george [probably] had he been there, but paul wasn't even a consideration [i've heard wings...]

In faerie circles perchance I might, hope Elven honey bread to find.
Over stream and tangled root I leap, o'er bough and slumbering badger's keep.
Under hoary oak and willow I bound, to find such groves as can be found,
the sating mushrooms; spring's delight, as gifts from figures of the night.

Paul wrote songs.
John wrote songs, ROCKED and started a revolution... oh yeah, and John was a true artist.
Compare their post Beatles greatest hits albums, you'll see who is best... then REALIZE, John died almost 25 years ago... and Paul still hasn't changed the world or written as many GREAT songs as his former partner!
This is not to say Paul sucks, only to say John was superior.
George played a BIG part in creating John's sound and wrote some beautiful songs too.
Ringo wrote "Octapuss's Garden" and sings "With a Little Help From My Friends" and "Yellow Submarine"! You know THAT don't come easy! Don't fuck with Ringo!

I think it really depends on your personality. all members had something else to offer making it a unique band. but I would go for lennon.

I think Lennon is amazing, but if Paul was the one who was murdered instead of John , would more people go for Paul?

More women would... he WAS the cute one... now, he's like... 64 (pause for laughs)... Imagine (not a pun... well, now it is...) if Paul died instead of John... he'd be cute forever.

You know the song 'When I'm 64'?
Would be weird for him to listen to that.
