6T's WBS Tek questions

This post is regarding 6T's WBS Tek.
This tek doesn't mention much about innoculation, possible use of 1/2 pint jars, or how polyfil would be used.
The tek says that a 1/4 to 3/8 inch hole in the lid is used for gas exchange. Is that also the innoculation point? How many points should be used... Four, along the sides, similar to the standard PF tek? Or the one used for gas exchange?
Also, if using polyfil for gas exchange, is the polyfil just stuffed into the hole? If so, can you innoculate right through that hole?
Lastly, can 1/2 pint jars be used in place of pint or quart jars? AFOAF intends on using 'Ball Wide Mouth 1/2 Pint Jars'. I dont think this will be a problem...
Sorry if I couldn't find this info in a FAQ, but I thought that it should have been included in the tek.

Yes, it is also the innoculation point. You only need one innoculation point, due to the fact that grains are shakeable, unlike the PF Tek cakes. So rather than multiple points, you just shake it up to get a much more even distribution

What i do is take a goodly chunk, twist it up, fold it in half, and pull it thru the hole so that the wispy ends are on the outside of the jar. Yes, you innoculate thru the hole, by sticking the needle thru the side of it. Careful not to inject INTO it!

He COULD use the half pint jars....but this slightly defeats the purpose, as grains are generally used more for larger grows, and innoculation of bulk substrates. I'd advise him to invest in a dozen or so of quart jars. It's worth it. Best price i've seen has been 6.99 at a local Big Lots....and 8-9.99 at local hardware stores.
Hope this helps.

So do you recommend he shakes the jar immediatly after innoculation? Also, how many CC's should be used in a quarter jar?? I'd guestimate @ 1cc.

Yeah, shaking the jars immediately after innoculation is key to a good spread of innoculant....and also shaking once out of the PC, to make sure the wet/dry get mixed around and minimal clumps form. and i use liquid mycellium techniques to cultivate.... and i also use like 3 cc's per quart jar of that, if only to speed growth n innoculation.
Of spores? 1 cc would be minimum...i'd go with 2/3 to be safe. Your friend is making prints, is he not?

Im sure he'll make some prints. He hasn't looked enough at what to do with spore prints, but im sure he'll make some, and maybe transplant.
